The goal of this project was to help Hutt City Council understand how community members think about the role of science and technology in the future of Lower Hutt.
We started by running a series of workshops with primary school students to hear their perspectives on what challenges the city faces and how science and technology might help overcome these. The students’ ideas were then used as prompts to elicite public feedback during a temporary pop-up at the Council’s Te Wā Heke: Invent the Future Festival.
We designed and built the pop-up in-house. It enabled community members to drop by, have a chat, and creatively respond to how science and technology might shape the future of Lower Hutt.
